This necklace incorporates one of my favorite flowers and symbols, the beautiful Lotus.  A gorgeous Grade A amethyst dangles from its delicate petals.  The chain of the necklace is made up of gorgeous faceted, amethyst rounds and purple keshi pearls with a wonderful luster.  The entire necklace is 19" long with a 2" drop and it is finished off with a sterling leaf toggle.

About the Lotus:
I first fell in love with the lotus when I visited Thailand and Cambodia.  You can find this symbol all over Asia.  I has many meanings attached to it, depending on the culture.  The Lotus flower flourishes in shallow ponds and near the edges of larger bodies of water. It grows up from the soil, through water, and then into the air.  Therefore, the flower physically and metaphorically connects the three spheres of earthly existence- land, sea, sky.  Its unfolding petals can suggests the expansion of the soul.  Often in the written and oral literature of many Asian cultures the lotus is present in figurative form, representing elegance, beauty, perfection, purity and grace,  used in poems and songs as an allegory for ideal feminine attributes.
